Sex and the City 2

Last night, I convinced (really they hardly needed it) to see Sex and the City 2 at midnight so we could be some of the first people to either love or hate it. Without seeing it, I don't know how I could hate it. I absolutely loved the series and I was really happy with the first movie. Remember when I met my now in real life friend Alexaand we graced the TV with our take on the movie?

Michael Patrick King - I could've been done at the first movie. It was perfectly complete for me. Plus, I have the style book to remember individual scenes from that the BF kindly bought me for a Valentine's Day.

So, I was a bit skeptical going into this movie. I mean, hello, they are riding on camels in the middle of desert?! Really? You needed to go all the way to the Middle East for the second movie?

So, what is my take?

Michael Patrick King and SJP should've stopped while they were ahead. The whole movie felt off to me. Even as I think back, I'm not exactly sure there was a storyline for any of the characters except for Charlotte and a little for Carrie. Samantha was her typical outrageous self, Miranda quits her job and then most of the movie takes place in Abu Dhabi. It was beautiful scenery and lots of jeweled-tone clothes, but I'm still scratching my head thinking, "Really? That was it."

During a few times, I leaned over to my friend and said, "This is boring. Really? They brought the characters back to life for this?"

With all that said, I will still need to buy the movie to complete my Sex and the City set.

Friday Fodder

Friday, February 6, 2009

Relax, put your feet up and get out the botox because it's almost 100% official -

Carrie Bradshaw and her friends will hit the big screen for a sequel of Sex & The City. According to Perez Hilton and his peeps, the movie is a go with the director and the whole cast signed on.

Not sure topics they could tackle next. Carrie has a baby? Miranda cheats on Steve? Samantha marries Richard and Smith is gay? Carrie teaches at NYU? Big goes back to Natasha?

Really though, what else needs to happen? Thoughts?

SATC is a go

Thursday, January 22, 2009
Greetings from LA! I have to admit, I'm loving the fact that I'm away from single digit weather and will gladly take a light mist at 70 degrees any day of Cleveland's winter.

Although, some things stay the same and one of those is Perez Hilton.

How excited are you for the possibility of Sex and the City: Part Two?

I'll be there with Alexa at the pre-premiere again.

SATC - the release

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Did you really think I wouldn't mention this?
Ta-dah! Sex and the City: The Movie is being released all over.

I can not wait. Unfortunately, I didn't purchase an advance copy although Blockbuster asked me not once, not twice but three times if I'd like to purchase it on different visits. I don't think it helped that I desperately wanted the poster hanging in the window for my office. Maybe that's what gave away my obsession with the movie.

Happy viewing.

SATC and my local TV debut

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

I went. I stayed. I conquered the preview of Sex and the City with Alexa (thank your friend Jenny for me again) and her friends Tuesday night. I couldn’t believe I was actually seeing the movie. It felt so weird because I only know those four characters in a 28 minute episode, not on a mega screen in a movie theater.

All in all I was very pleased with the movie. It made the entire crowd laugh, cry, clap, yell at some characters and even gasp. Yes, we all gasped at one point. But, mostly there was lots of laughing. (Sorry to anyone sitting in the row in front of us. We like to talk through the movie and dissect every part.) It even surprised me at some parts. And, I pride myself on being able to call other movies and I totally didn’t see some of the twists and turns.

I’m not going to give it away, but I will say Big doesn’t freaking die. I wish there was more Stanford but I’m glad they incorporated the characters that they did. Samantha looks younger than she did in the series, Miranda looks more slightly aged, Charlotte and Carrie both really didn’t change that much. The fashion is bigger than in all the seasons of the show. Holy crap the belts! In every scene there was a belt on each girl.

I loved it so so so much, I’m even heading to another showing tomorrow with some more friends to laugh my ass off again.

SATC -- Coming to Cleveland

I'm joining the ranks of millions of girls awaiting the premiere of the Sex and the City: The Movie. I can't wait. I've watched a trailer a dozen times this weekend. I got even more excited when I found THIS in this month's Cosmo -- Holy shit was I excited.

I will be definitely being signing up to go to the after-party in Cleveland. Who is coming with me?
