the greatest party on earth is turning 25

Saturday, November 7, 2015
Over the past years, I've been lucky enough to attend the Jump Back Ball and partner with the organization as an official blogger.

This year, if you plan on attending one of the most fabulous parties in February in Cleveland, I have another hand in it as compared to past years. With my role on the young professionals board, Playhouse Partners, I'm one of three people to bring the 25th year anniversary vision to life with a group of even more talented committee members.

What: 25th Annual Jump Back Ball - Jump Back Under the Big Top: The Greatest Party on Earth
When: Saturday, February 27th
Where: Really? Come on!

Admission levels:  VIP or General

VIP includes a pre-party at 6 p.m. including early entrance VIP cocktail reception in the State Theater lobby, seated dinner in the Connor Palace plus General Admission obvi.

General admission - Party begins at 8 p.m and includes dinner buffet on the State Theater stage and that lovely open bar we all love.

Want tickets? Here the dates you NEED to know - November 9 and November 16. If you are a member of our Playhouse Partners, then you can purchase tickets on November 9 BEFORE the rest of the public. Yes, you can and all you have to do is join Partners for a bunch of great benefits and for just $100.

Partner ticket prices: $130 a ticket and $250 for VIP and on sale on November 9
Public on sale ticket prices: $155 for Partners general admission and $165 for Non-Partners (only 200 tickets available at THIS price)

So, set your calendars accordingly because this event sells out EVERY year and I'll see you at the VIP dinner in February.

Disclosure: Like in past years, I was provided a complimentary ticket if I spread the word about this fabulous event which I have attended for the past years.

February - see you later!

One of my favorite events that sends February off into the dust is Jump Back Ball, which was held at Playhouse Square this past weekend.

This would by fifth Jump Back Ball (and yes I had to count a few times to figure out the number) with the 24th annual event. Each ball is so vastly different but one thing always remains - I need a full day to recover AFTER all the festivities.

This year, I was more closely involved and saw the Jump Back Ball committee work tirelessly to pull off an incredible event all with the help of some very dedicated Partners volunteers. Each month, the committee would update the Partners board with the theme, bands, decoration ideas and how the the team was pacing for fundraising efforts.

How did the committee's hard work turn out? Take a look.

The main stage; my lovely friend; my painting skills

Friends getting down to a great band - Thunder Gun Express

The cutest CLE fashion blogger; the drink that made for a lazy Sunday and someone having shoeicide.

Are you looking for a very passionate organization to join? Ask me about Playhouse Partners and how you can get involved with the endless networking opportunities and access to the theaters. Jump Back Ball is just the start!

jump back to the future with PlayhouseSquare

Monday, November 3, 2014
Next Monday marks an important Monday because it's the day of PlayhouseSquare's Jump Back Ball Kick off Ticket party.

For the past four years, I've attended this fabulous party on the last Saturday of February and this year will be no different. I'll be there and likely wait until the LAST minute to find a dress because I can't decide what to wear. #girlproblems

If you have considered going but missed out last year, don't let it happen to you again this. Friends don't let friends not go to the Jump Back Ball. Tickets sold out in just TEN days last year.

What is it?
This year's event will be full of surprises and excitement that you will not want to miss. The 24th Annual Jump Back Ball includes a VIP Party with special entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, endless cocktails, a gourmet dinner buffet, special activities and a raffle and silent auction. Jump Back Ball is an annual fundraising event and all proceeds benefit PlayhouseSquare.

And: Bring a new, unused personal care item to do be donated to Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland and be entered into a raffle to win:
1. Overnight stay at the Wyndham the night of Jump Back Ball
2. VIP upgrade for yourself and a guest
3. Loge tickets to upcoming performances at PlayhouseSquare

When?
Monday, November 10, 5:30 p.m. at the Hofbrahaus

How much?

Ticket prices increase the day after the party by $15 plus handling fees.

RSVP here on Facebook so it will automatically connect to your calendar so you won't miss the kickoff party.

Wonder what last year's event was like? Here's my recap so you can see why it's a not miss event.

the one where I take off my shoes

I knew these shoes were trouble when I purchased them at the last minute for the Jump Back Ball.

death to those strappy black shoes for a steal of $20
On Friday evening, it became very apparent that no matter how much I begged and pleaded with UPS to release my gold and black sparkly Nicole Miller Rent the Runway dress, they were going to hold it hostage and miss my delivery date for the event. I may or may have not held a small pity party for myself but quickly realized I had a beautiful David Meister back up dress and just needed a pair of heels to pull off my new look.

Little padding and a high heel = shoe-i-cide.

I found out just how truly uncomfortable the shoes were at hour four of wearing them and did the unthinkable inside the beautifully historic State Theater. I carefully peeled my shoes from my aching feet revealing two thick indents over my toes where the straps were and went barefoot for the rest of the night.

Yes, gasp all you want (I still am at myself) but oh how amazing my feet felt when they could breathe and function again. Also, for those ladies who are shaking their heads in disapproval of me, I even reinforced these shoes with gel inserts but without a platform toe, I was doomed from the start.

Still shaking my head at myself for this!

Aside from being THAT girl who was barefoot with friends dancing in front of the speakers to a remix of Baby One More Time, take a look through my iPhone's photos to see what my friends and I were up to for other portions of the 23rd annual Jump Back Ball: Shaken not Stirred.

Donna, Kelly, Lisa and Shibani; Carrie and Donna dancing with the band; vodka galore
Everyone wanted to rock the Pharrell's hat we brought, even the singer from Your Villian My Hero

Tara, Carrie, Donna and me; cocktails all around; Donna with the best prop of the night

Another February, another Jump Back Ball down for the books. If you missed out this year, keep your eyes peeled for the ticket kick off party next November because it may just sell out faster than 10 days for next year's event.

Disclaimer: As part of my partnership with PlayHouse Square for Jump Back Ball, I was contracted to write about the event how I see fit. Hat not included. Hair provided by Laine at Charles Scott Salon and Spa in Westlake - I absolutely loved the curly wrapped wave thing I had going on.

shaken or stirred is the most important question

Next Thursday marks an important day for Clevelanders looking to attend one of the best parties of the winter on February 22.

Jump Back Ball is really the party that gets my friends and I through the long winter months. You have the lovely Christmas then New Years and then a big break of emptiness. No events (except if you could my birthday), staying indoors gets a little redundant and sometimes you just need a party.

Enter the Jump Back Ball. It is the event that leaves you looking forward to something at the end of February. Let's you get dressed up, attend with friends, meet new ones and party in the legendary theater district for a Saturday night.

Why do we all get so excited about this event?

Well, please scan through photos from last year's event to see what an amazing time we all had. Or, you can read about my take on the the past three year's event - Passport to Party in 2011, Through the Looking Glass in 2012, and Jump Back Two Spaces in 2013.

What: Jump Back 0023: Shaken Not Stirred Kickoff Ticket Party

Where: Cibreo Privado (Private Dining Room) 1438 Euclid Ave., downtown Cleveland

When: Thursday, November 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Cost: $150 each, VIPs $200 each (Limit 2 tickets per person) VIP tickets allow earlier entry with a private menu provided by Dante Boccuzzi this year. For Partners, tickets are discounted to $115 each.

What to expect: Complimentary appetizers, drink specials and a lot of people AND for the first 250 people who purchase tickets will receive a long sleeve t-shirt that says "Will you be shaken or stirred?"

At the kickoff event, tickets are the lowest price and available for one day only. The price will increase $15 PLUS handling fees after the kick off party.

As if you need more reasons to get your ticket early, this event will sell out. Each year, the event continues to sell our earlier and last year it sold out by December 7.

Don't be the person stalking Twitter looking for tickets. Get yours early.

Disclaimer: I'm partnering with PlayhouseSquare to promote the event in exchange for ticket compensation.

I've never met a sequin I didn't like

It's that time again, Cleveland!

It's the ticket kick off event for Playhouse Square's Jump Back Ball "Jump Back Two Spaces" happening tomorrow.

Where: Market Garden Brewery
What: Jump Back Ball ticket sales
When: Thursday, November 15,  5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Ticket prices: $135 per person and $110 each if you are a Partner like me! (Two ticket minimum)

If you are thinking of going to the event on February 23, you want to scoop up your tickets tomorrow because this will be the lowest price to purchase tickets at for the event.

Don't wait - get them early rather than waiting until the last minute because tickets will 1) sell out by early January 2) be more expensive and you can use the money you saved on a pair of shoes for the event instead!

Never been? Take a look through last year's event here to get a feel for what it's like from start to finish.

Ticket kick off time means the start of a search for a perfect dress for the evening. With all the holiday sales coming up in the next six weeks, I'd be a fool to not take advantage of them for this event and I'm already thinking sequins for this year's event.

Wearing the color of the season - oxblood - in all sequins from Topshop at $130

Plum sequin dress from BCBG for $298

Rose gold + sequins = my dress...when it goes on sale....BCBG for $448

It's early (I know) but I'm already getting a head start on what I want to wear even though it will come down to a game time decision. Doesn't it always?!?

dark ride - a lexus event

Monday, March 21, 2011
"I like my beats fast and my bass down low."

I've been singing this over and over since Dev's performance last night at the Dark Ride event at Playhouse Square. What an amazing time! I headed over to the event with the plum herself, Sean and a bunch of our friends to the event where we quickly found CLEshopalic and Alana before heading to the stage for the performances.

The place was completely transformed with dancers, colored lights with Absolut bars in every corner and looked completely different from the Jump Back Ball last month. The party was ushered onto the stage where DJ Flaco spun while the Cavs dancers rocked out and then Dev took the stage followed by Jay Sean, who has a hot British accent.

love the chandeliers

with my friends (doesn't the middle one look like Kim K.?)

Loved Dev's performance

Jay Sean with DJ Flaco

Erin in the car we both want but can't afford just yet
Thank you to Playhouse Square and Lexus for putting on this party again and extending the invitation to me.

Disclosure: As a blogger, I was given tickets to attend this fabulous event and brought my friends to accompany me. And, they are incredibly thankful as well.

dark ride: vip experience giveaway

While I enjoyed a relatively low key weekend featuring brunch at Lucky's Cafe, a quick trip into Banyan Tree and seeing the King's Speech at Capitol Theater, I'm already looking forward to next Saturday because a kick ass party I was invited to along with Alexa, Alana and CleShopaholic.

This Saturday, Playhouse Square, 96.5 KISS FM and Cleveland/Akron Lexus dealers are hosting Dark Ride: VIP Experience and launch party of the Lexus CT200h starts at 8:30 p.m. in the State Theater with performances by Jay Sean, DEV and DJ Flaco.

For 700 lucky attendees, you will walk into the State transformed into the Lexus lifestyle experience to a nightclub with a red carpet, champagne, Absolut martini ice bar and hor d'oeuvres with special performances throughout the evening and the new CT200h on display. (I may try to even drive it out of the place somehow.I haven't quite figured it out but I have a few days to craft a plan.)

Tickets are available for the VIP event at Metro Lexus on March 15 from 5 to 6 p.m. (look for the KISS FM street teams), on KISS FM, from Metromix here or from my blog, so you can't purchase tickets for this anywhere.

However, the lovely ladies at Playhouse Square gave me 2 pair of tickets to giveaway for Saturday's event.

To enter:
1) Leave a comment of your favorite rap/dance/booty shaking song of all time.
2) Tweet about the contest  - I want to go to the VIP Dark Ride on Saturday with @allisonpeltz and @playhousesquare.
3) You must be 21 to enter and you HAVE to LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS because otherwise how will I contact you to pick up your tickets?

Contest closes on Thursday, March 17, and I will announce the giveaway shortly after winners are chosen.

Disclaimer: PlayhouseSquare provided me with tickets for this fabulous events and I'll be attending with friends, dancing all night long.

rewind: jump back ball 2011

As I lay here in bed watching the Oscars preview, it's safe to say that my first Jump Back Ball experience was an amazing success.

So much so that I've spent most of the afternoon (and into the evening) in bed.

Damn you hurricanes!

We all had a blast. That's a complete understatement for my group of friends because it was such a good night of dancing, drinking, falling, then more falling, then ice luging and then more dancing. (There was so much food available (missed the damn pretzels!) but we were busy on the dance floor. While I didn't wear the dress everyone voted on (it didn't get great reviews) , I ended up borrowing the dress from my friend and was happy with the end result.

Quotes remembered from the night:
BF to his friend: "Why the hell didn't we come to this when we were single?"
His friend to the BF: "Seriously, what the hell were we thinking?" Cue eye rolling.
Same friend: "We are coming to this every year."

While I didn't spend too much eating food, it was definitely delicious but I missed the soft pretzels! Noooooo! I was too busy dancing to the Menus with my friends and then to RadioActive. Whoever booked this band should get a big high five- they were awesome. They played everything from Lady Gaga to Notorious B.I.G. and sounded amazing.

Now, on with the show!

Early on in the night

absolutely loved this band

great idea then, not a good idea in the morning. Doesn't my friend look like Kate Middleton?
The BF putting the moves on Lia

And here's a video recap of the night in 1:35 that didn't contain too much shaky video, laughing or talking in the background.

Disclosure: I was given a pair of tickets to attend this awesome event. However, I was planning on going and buying my tickets even if I wasn't given them and will continue to attend every year! Thanks Steph and Cindi.

Jump back - Passport to Party

Wednesday, November 10, 2010
A few weeks back, I received one of my most exciting emails of my life for this little blog. It's been awhile since I've been this excited about getting pitched. The last time I did a dance was when I was introduced to my fairy fashion god mother, Justine, who introduced me to my new favorite jeans from the Gap. (I do believe the straight leg have been replaced by the jean legging.)

So, what has made me so excited you asked?

Drumrrrrrrrrrrrollllllllllll.........

It's Jump Back Ball Time!

If you aren't familiar with it, let me introduce you to the event -

Here are a few pictures to flip through from last year's event.

So, if you want to go, I suggest you free up next Tuesday night to purchase your tickets. You will be able to buy tickets at the deepest discount for one night only at the Kickoff Party. Tickets are $120 per ticket ($100 if you are a PlayhouseSquare Partner) with NO handling fees.(There is a 2 ticket limit per person at the Kickoff.) The following day, ticket prices will increase to $140 plus handling. So if you attend the Kickoff, you can save $20+ per ticket. (That's some shopping money right there.)

Kickoff Party details:

Where: Zinc, 668 Euclid Ave, Cleveland

When: Tuesday, November 16, 6-8pm

This is the first time I'll be attending with the BF and a group of newcomers too. You better believe I will Rent the Runway for this party.

Disclaimer: I was given two fabulous tickets for this event in exchange for this post and another one that will be happening in the future.
